Bone Deep Broken – a poem

Today I want to share a raw and transparent poem with you all. I wrote “Bone Deep Broken” just after rededicating my life to Christ. Being a survivor of childhood trauma, and the pattern continuing into adulthood, sometimes can be really lonely and hard. I had come to a place in my life where I had lost pretty much everything, I was sitting in a treatment center and these words flowed out of me and onto the page. I hope that it gives you encouragement today and shows you the redemptive power of our Lord.

Bone Deep Broken

Broken.
Bruised.
What do you do when the pain is Bone Deep?
Scared.
Searching.
When the child inside you is screaming.
Called.
Chosen.
But fighting for the control you cling to.
Wanted but
Weary.
Your Father never wanes his love for you.
Longing for
Love.
You don’t see how He fights for you.
Abused and
Abuser.
The Lord never leaves you.
Seen.
Saved.
Jesus stands strong in your tears.
Known
Kept
He chose you while you were in your sin to defeat your sin.
Forgiven by the
Father.
We worship Him,
We come to Him,
We surrender the fight to Him with joy.

with love, Jenn
